The law is a seamless web — one matter bleeds into the next. A trial firm with a general practice, ready for whatever your case touches.
The Firm
A trial firm with a general practice.
Nobody ever wants to need a lawyer. When you do, you want one who gets you the answers you need — not one who passes the buck.
The law is a seamless web: a business matter can turn on family, probate, criminal, or tort law without warning, and an issue in one area often calls for counsel in another. We practice across the whole of Texas law so your representation is comprehensive — and we bring a born Texan's mindset of no retreat, no surrender to every matter.
Our Team
Led by a trial lawyer who tries cases.
Thomas Maxwell Smith founded the firm and leads its litigation. A Texas team across Bosque County, Fort Worth, and Weatherford keeps every matter moving.

The Record
We don't say much. The record talks.
Civil & Commercial Litigation
Claims dismissed with prejudice
Retained as defense counsel for a third-party defendant roughly sixty days before the jury-trial setting. Won traditional and no-evidence summary judgment dismissing every claim with prejudice. Our client owed nothing.
Appellate Law
Two appeals defended on the same property
Defended a property owner (appellee) through two separate appeals arising from post-foreclosure litigation. Both judgments affirmed; petition for review dismissed by the Supreme Court of Texas.
Garnishments
Garnishment dissolved
Represented the judgment-debtor side in garnishment litigation. The writ of garnishment was dissolved, a bill of review was granted vacating the underlying 2006 judgment, and the court ordered the garnished funds released to our client. The creditor's appeal was dismissed as moot.
Appellate Law
Appeal prosecuted to resolution against a national bank
Appellate counsel for the appellant in a dispute with a national bank Prosecuted the appeal until the matter was resolved, then dismissed it.
Appellate Law
Oral argument before the Seventh Court of Appeals
Argued before the Seventh Court of Appeals (Amarillo) in a civil appeal. Watch the full argument.
